China-based agritech firm Heilongjiang Huida Technology Co Ltd (Huida Tech) has inked a partnership with Agri Fly, top dealer of the firm’s drones, to install advanced agriculture technologies in Vietnamese farms.

Through this collaboration, Huida Tech, which develops and manufactures agricultural drones, tractor guidance systems and autopilot systems, seeks to transform agricultural production in Vietnam.

“As a comprehensive smart agriculture solutions provider, Huida Tech relies on our R&D and supply chain capabilities, with a strong focus on product innovation, to promote global advancement of the industry.

“Together with Agri Fly, we’re excited to bring new agriculture technologies to support the transformation of Vietnam’s traditional agriculture into an era of precise, automated, and intelligent development,” said Faye Liang, head of Huida Tech in Vietnam.

As part of the partnership, “the most advanced” unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies have been brought to and applied in the farms of Dong Tap, Vietnam.

These include Huida Tech’s HD540Pro agricultural UAV and HD408 autopilot navigation system.

With high adaptability in assisting farm machinery to follow set routes, the HD408 is able to deliver 1.5cm accuracy under challenging conditions and at night.

It is equipped with smart systems developed by the firm, including an autopilot system for precise operations, a levelling system for automatic land levelling, and a monitoring feature for analysing job performance.

To date, over 30,000 units of HD408 have been installed worldwide, which are assisting farm machinery operations in some 40 million acres of farmland.

In addition, Huida Tech has developed main components, optimised spraying and spreading operation systems to adapt to more application scenarios. It has also made major advances in radar and vision-sensing systems for easy operation and improved safety.

Investing in innovation

Huida Tech provides its customers worldwide with technical support and on-site coordination.

For instance, it sent technicians and regional managers to Vietnam in August to set up operations and meet with local customers of the Agri Fly project.

Notably, the firm has invested a total of CNY160m (US$22m) into R&D over the past three years, which accounted for 28.54% of cumulative operating income.

“With the fastest business growth rate of agricultural drones in the industry, we have competitive advantages in both technological versatility and scaled production that leads to faster product iteration and guarantees supply chain quality,” said Chen Qidong, Vice President of Huida Tech.

The firm aims to share new and innovative agricultural technologies with users and partners around the world to accelerate elaborate and smart development of the sector.

“Huida Tech is dedicated to researching, developing, and manufacturing advanced agricultural equipment for cultivation, management, and harvesting. We are constantly enhancing our R&D and production systems, and building a global sales and service network by drawing on years of agriculture experience and a deep understanding of smart agricultural operational needs.”
